Come on guys I like having my muses do this dumb stuff
unij: YOU BET KID (Psy-yai-yai...)
Oh my god you guys I am so bad at coming up with an actual, solid, planned plot.

My teacher, noticing how generally panicked and depressed I was over my lack of productivity, agreed with me that it would be best if I was given solid deadlines, rather than the loosey-goosey, open-ended thing that a lot of my classmates are doing, she'd assign me specific dates to show her bits of my project.

Her first deadline was to have a solid outline of the story, specifically the ending, e-mailed to her by Monday at the latest. She's a firm believer that having an ending when you start is the most important thing. You can change the ending while you work, but you have to have an ending in mind. And this is, as far as I have known from looking at the processes of others, an entirely accurate assumption. But I have never been able to come up with a solid ending for anything I've done. Ever. I come up with characters, basic premises, a starting point and a few bits of things to happen along the way. I always hope I'll come up with more later. This may explain why I've never actually finished anything.

Anyway, point is, I'm sitting here staring at the paper, and realizing I have no freaking clue where to go with this. It is unbelievably frustrating to just be caught up on the outline.

Arrrgh

I was chattin' with the ever-so-awesome [livejournal.com profile] asbestoslegs  today and finally got the balls together to try and draw some stuff purely through tablet. Considering it's my first time actually completing something, to my memory, they came out decent enough, if not sketchy.

Also I updated my DeviantArt for the first time in over a year ._. yaaay

After having no clue for the first two and a half classes what to do with the project, or how to work Sinatra's products to fit into something that would be fun for me and also not one hundred percent unoriginal, I finally got struck by inspiration last night and it is so relieving.

Basic outline, 40s setting, but with magic. An older charmer tries to show a fast-living illusion-caster how to actually enjoy the craft, rather than just using it as a tool. Good thing I know so much about the 40s culture 8|;;

Doing character sketches now. It would be awesome if I followed through and didn't chicken out of comic format, switching back to short story. The idea of it is a very visual, anyway, and wouldn't translate well, so HEY SARAH DON'T SCREW UP

Instead of working, I found a pretty cool thorough quiz to determine your Hogwarts House. I took it for Spin and Franky.

Spin: Gryffindor-50, Ravenclaw-67, Hufflepuff-94, Slytherin-28
(Haha I am not surprised by this, he would generally come up Hufflepuff in quizzes I took in the past, but some bias in me always hoped he would get in Gryffindor. I think that's the bias lingering from the books. Didn't help that they called Hufflepuffs "a bunch of duffers" ._.)

Franky:
Gryffindor-90, Ravenclaw-47, Hufflepuff-41, Slytherin-85
(I'm not sure how I feel about that Slytherin score. Franky can be a bastard, sure, but he's not all that cunning or power-hungry. Gryffindor's a good fit, though. ...Hahah Harry Potterish score, now that I think of it.)

Fun fact: whenever I take housing quizzes, I'm really very close between all four of them ._. I get different answers all the time, no clue which I fit into.

I also did that Sailor Senshi thing for the two of them and had way too much fun with it ._. CURSE YOU INTERNET

Auuuuuugh guys, I should be doing my work but instead I keep thinking about all the stuff I wanna RP and if I should send in another app or maybe look at another game and it is not a good idea but auuugh

Okay, having finally finished watching the Jap version of Digimon Adventure last night, I can say this with confidence:

Dear lord the kids fell for every single trap laid out for them with unbelievable ease. Seriously, every time there's a building or some sort of indication there might be people around, even though it's been pretty clearly laid out that they're the only people around, they will always fall into it, then fall into a pit or get attacked by someone and go "OH NO WHAT A DIRTY TRICK"

It is silly

Also dear god it is so obvious that Jyou was crushing on Mimi why did they not end up together they were adorable.

In other news last night I god an idea for an RP based on the movie Stardust and now I'm like "8| What now"
unij: YOU BET KID (Crazy Enough To Work)
What do you know, drawing stuff for RP and actually putting effort into it can be really fun.

I am smart.

Levitas, Rikku, Facilier, Fawful )
It would be awesome if Copic had more than one shade of purple, one shade of skin tone, and an actual shade of red.
Fun fact: apparently Crimson combined with Prussian Blue makes the near exact same shade of the provided Violet color when blended together =|

When I was trying to come up with more people to draw I realized how few characters I follow or even interact with.
unij: YOU BET KID (I'M BLIND JACKHOLES)
My music collection has officially exceeded the space available on my iPod. I must now pick which songs I must delete until I get something with more space. Sadface.

I wish I weren't so cheap so I would be willing to bid on stuff to help Haiti, but I'm just that kind of person, I guess.

Okay for someone who's pretty much never watched Doctor Who, I can't get this idea out of my head:

Marry Poppins and Ms. Frizzle have got to be Time Ladies.

Has my portrayal of a character changed the way you think of them?

Fff I have tags to catch up on for once why do I waste time watching videos =|
Also why on earth is it so hard to find Franky icons he is so iconable... for that matter why are pretty much all my characters free of icons it makes me sad. You'd think Fawful would be a little easier after the latest game, but nope.

Yesterday my friend straightened my hair, and that was pretty much the first time having anyone do anything beyond a haircut and a rinse dye. It came out looking half cool, half derpy, and half emo teenage boy.

It has gotten to the point where I pretty much avoid Roommate 2 whenever possible because she has to complain about something every time. Also I think Roommate 1 was retching this morning and I am scared to bring it up.
unij: YOU BET KID (I Did It My Way)
So I've started studying, most of the info I've found so far are in relation to Frankie's career, his singing styles, how he got roles in movies and the teenagers who worshiped him.

Then I found an excerpt on Presley, and how he hit it off with a girl who Frankie had an eye on previously, and Presley always joked in private with friends about winning against him:

He looked up into his mirror in time to see Frank Sinatra walk through the dressing room door, accompanied by two unpleasant-looking companions. The conversation was extremely civil and very brief. Sinatra complimented him on his show and on the completion of his new film, and offered him some free advice: if Elvis wanted to continue working in good health, he should make sure he wasn?t stepping on the wrong toes. Without ever mentioning her name or losing his smile, Sinatra succeeded in making Juliet Prowse the biggest turn-off Elvis could imagine.

I don't get why so many freakin' games feel the need to put in vampires when it doesn't really fit in with the plot. I mean I haven't played most of them, so I don't know if they have it fit better in the universe, but it just doesn't seem to make sense based on what I know.

Metal Gear Solid: war games, lots of guns and sneaking around, shooting people, with clones and robots, advanced technology, bioengineered soldiers and... vampires. Where is the connection?

Fallout: Post-apocalyptic, grungy and based around nuclear activity. There are monsters, but the vampires are, as far as I can tell, random throw-ins of normal humans who drink blood and don't go into the sun because they are "creatures of the darkness." It would be one thing if they were just straight-up Refined Cannibals or whatever, but they gotta be vampires.

I bet there are others out there, too, but those are the ones that stand out as kinda random to me.

Put your music player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty-one songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-second is the title.

Will you think of me

Sir hand, or is it Ma'am?
Come on in, hang your coats
Until the break of dawn,
Do you folks like coffee?

Congratulations,
Can you handle this?

Everyone's a little unsatisfied
In the town where I was born
They built this whole neighborhood
Desperate for changing.

Somebody keep my balance
Once again, I just can't get it straight
You ain't a little angel no more

Celebrate good times
Get up, put the party in motion
She keeps Moet et Chandon

If I had a million dollars.

Why is it

The one day I spend the whole goddamn day traveling

is the day there's apparently everyone talking about a Cloverfield monster showing up in XI but the log is so busy that I'm too confused to know where it is or how to jump in on it

God damn it I am so bad about jumping into open logs already

I should be happy about this

Today's the last full day at home. It was pretty decent. I slept poorly last night, but that doesn't count.

~Woke up, made myself bacon and eggs, felt proud of myself for putting effort into breakfast, watched adorable dogs on television.
~Went to hang out with highschoolers on their first day back, chilled with them, gave my friend his late Christmas present which was a plushie Companion Cube. He geekgasm'd and it was adorable.
~Finally got to go to the delicious and inexpensive Japanese place in the area. I had missed their sushi so hard.
~Got a massage. It was nice, but of all the places I felt was in most need of pressing the kinks out, you'd think she would have spent some time on the lower back. Weird.
~Got sick of missing my two vanished games: PW2 had been lent out for over a year, so I finally confronted the person who had it. I might be able to get it back tomorrow. Rhythm Heaven is too fun to let be lost, so I went to get a used copy at Gamestop. I was surprised that the store clerk recognized me; I guess female gamers over the age of 11 are rare enough to come by around here, since I don't purchase all that often. Anyway, back to my tap-tap-flicking.
~Watched the third of the Frank Sinatra movies we've TiVo'd during my break. To be honest, they're kind of dull, most of the time, and this one--The Tender Trap--had themes that were so mind-bogglingly sexist and conformist in today's society. Doesn't matter, Frank's always been a better singer than actor anyway.
~While we were watching Tender Trap, Dad was commenting on how a lot of people feel the need to fill in that conformity of society by having a significant other of one way or another, and settling down instead of bein' free like you want. He kept pulling examples from his favorite movies, like Cool Hand Luke, A Thousand Clowns, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. He finished it with it's cool that I'm so blatantly asexual, because I can completely resist that desire and not feel bad about it. I think it was a compliment?
~My dad also suddenly got all passionate, telling me about the comics of R. Crumb, and running downstairs to grab one of his volumes. A brief glance through looked... really weird.
~I think I need to put up an OOC plotting post for RP when I get back to the dorms. I'm in a real rut with my guys ._.

I've never seen a new year as all that big a deal. I stay up to midnight anyway, but 2010 seems like a nice enough thing to acknowledge. Especially since, looking back, I'm pretty happy with this year.

I made friends, online and in reality. I tried new things, perhaps not as many as some would recommend, but enough for me to feel proud enough. For a year that started off academically lousy, it's resolved into a place where I'm looking forward to more, hoping for the best. Heck, I'm feeling pretty pleased with things as a whole right now, even if not everything is exactly as needed and maybe I should be a little more prepared. But I've always been the sort to let things come as they are.

I want to repeat Erica's sentiment: So much of the support and happiness this year came from my experiences at [livejournal.com profile] daisychainrpg . I made great friends, did some great writing, had some powerful emotional experiences, found some fabulous new series to delve into. Not everything was perfect, but I couldn't have wished for a more supportive, welcoming, exciting game to have seen me through the majority of this year.
