I don't get why so many freakin' games feel the need to put in vampires when it doesn't really fit in with the plot. I mean I haven't played most of them, so I don't know if they have it fit better in the universe, but it just doesn't seem to make sense based on what I know.

Metal Gear Solid: war games, lots of guns and sneaking around, shooting people, with clones and robots, advanced technology, bioengineered soldiers and... vampires. Where is the connection?

Fallout: Post-apocalyptic, grungy and based around nuclear activity. There are monsters, but the vampires are, as far as I can tell, random throw-ins of normal humans who drink blood and don't go into the sun because they are "creatures of the darkness." It would be one thing if they were just straight-up Refined Cannibals or whatever, but they gotta be vampires.

I bet there are others out there, too, but those are the ones that stand out as kinda random to me.

Personally I felt the Ace Attorney series was missing something without the vampires.

Ugh, The Family. I really didn't care for the quest at all and the fact that they were just up and at-em vampires made me go "...=\". Vampires were a semi-popular way of looking at post-apocalypic mutated humans, but Vance hints on it always being a condition well before the Third World War. Not to mention in 50's sci-fi pulp, the mutant vampires usually looked more like ghouls or other different things.

All the same, after doing that Quest, I came back readily equipped with the power of the sun (Or rather my plasma Rifle and plasma mines) and made sure the WoD dropouts were prevented from ever spreading their emo over anyone else's shoes.

I only saw 'em while my friend was playing through, and I was just like "really, game? is that necessary?"

Yeah. When I played it, I just found them generally retarded. I was hoping for cannibals or them actually being cockroaches inside or something.

Oh well, I don't have to deal with them anymore. :3

hahahahahahaha getting mad at MGS for having a vampire in it is ridiculous considering the other villains it's got. Psychomantis, Vulcan Raven, Fortune, the Fear, the Sorrow - really, Vamp is par for the course. He's even got an origin story that makes an MGS amount of sense!

You MIGHT have a case with Sniper Wolf being relatively normal. MAYBE. But she was still a sniper that could go days without eating, drinking, sleeping, or moving.

Aha, I haven't played MGS much (i.e. at all), so I'm sure if I were actually in on the silliness this probably wouldn't make me blink much at all.

Yeah I mean, Psychomantis is a telekinetic telepath, Vulcan Raven can foresee the future (or something I guess???? also he talks to/controls ravens), there's Fortune who is unable to die because her psychic powers deflect bullets, THE PAIN who controls bees and has them crawling around under his skin (or...I dunno, it's MGS), the Fear who's some sort of freaky half-spider crazy dude, THE FURY who's a Russian cosmonaut who saw earth from space and went crazy and came back wanting to BURN EVERYTHING, the list just goes on forever man. Vamp's almost normal, comparatively.

Fortune who is unable to die because her psychic powers deflect bullets

she only thinks she is unable to die because of psychic powers but really it is regular everyday magnetism that is protecting her

which makes me wonder why someone doesn't just, like
stab her

or something

Dittoing what Guindo said; complaining about inappropriate vampires doesn't really work with MGS. :/

Vamp actually has a somewhat technological explanation for his abilities. The blood drinking is just him being creepy.

Yeah, as far as I can tell that game's pretty messed up in general XD After hearing how they're like "guess what Raiden your whole life might be a lie" I really shouldn't try worrying about such things.

Metal Gear Solid should probably be on your list of games to play if you are at all a fan of that sort of game. The stories make only marginally more sense than the average multifandom RP.

I really hope Darksiders doesn't have any vampires now. There is no place for vampires in a post-apocalyptic war between demons and angels.

I'm sure I would have played it by now if I had the right system/the patience for an emulator.

I can imagine the game designers going "Wait, we need to do a last minute redesign of this game, someone jinxed it and there need to be vampires now."

I thought you had a PS2? (You don't want to play Metal Gear Solid 4. Nobody wants to play Metal Gear Solid 4.)

Ugh I swear to god if I get back to Boston and pick up this game and find out that the final boss is Edward Cullen, I'm gonna beat you up.

Nope, just the computer and DS. A friend has a PS2, I go over to her dorm to play Persona 4, I don't know if she's got any of the MGSes with her. (haha yeah I've heard mixed reviews and also 8 hours of unskippables.)

My ribs will already be hurting from laughing so it'd be par for the course.
