Dec. 30th, 2010 10:08 pmSo yesterday I was going through some of my favorite videos of the One Piece Voice Actors being silly, and realized one of them took place at this year's Sakuracon. I decided to check the site for any interesting people I could find that would be at this year's con. Turns out, Mayumi Tanaka is going to hosting a TON of panels. /gleeeeee
Only two weeks out of Second City I already miss the sort of fun plots that would happen in jamjar games. I did enjoy my time over at 2C, but lost track of the plot fast and had trouble getting back in by the end. If I were to reapp, I don't know who I'd do it with. It's also slightly tempting to join another game, but it's so intimidating to not know where to look. Mrrrr.

Nov. 6th, 2010 02:11 pmThat's all there is to say in the matter
1. Hello there, stranger, what's your aliases? (Common username, nicknames, etc)
UniverseJuice or UniJ in many locations, and groovehoppin or ScottishPanties in a couple places. PearlCagedDemon/ThePCD/PCD in places that I joined a longer time ago, and TeufelChen in one particular location.
2. That was some cool names... Care to tell me your real one?
Because I'm an overly trusting derp, I haven't bothered hiding my name from the internet at all. Hi guys I'm Sarah.3. That was also cool! Now show of your own awesome nicknaming skills. Who do you call what?
As someone who plays Franky, I have to come up with a lot of really dumb and pointless nicknames |D Foxx as 'Silvers,' Red as 'Petstore,' Caboose as 'Trainbutt,' etc.
4. Okie, what do you think these people should know about you by now?
That I'm asexual.
5. What do you think they don't know?
Errr, idk, I can never keep track of who I've told what, and I'm pretty open with most all details about myself--like I said, overly trusting derp.
6. Random request time! Set your iTunes/Favorites on YouTube/any music player on Shuffle and then tell me the first five songs which starts to play!
1. The Yellow Monkey: Taiyou ga Moeteiru
2. DJ Earworm: Blame It On The Pop
3. Boom Boom Paradise (Rhythm Heaven OST, Japanese version)
4. Daft Punk: Megamix 1 (DJ Hero ST)
5. Sarah Saltzberg: Woe Is Me (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee)
Not to mention two tracks of background music from Bowser's Inside Story, and one from Strong World... I need more normal music ><
7. Now list five of your favorite pairings from any kind of fandom! (Manga/anime, games, you name it!)
Jeez, I barely ship anything honestly...
1. Franky x Robin (One Piece)
2. Godot x Mia (Ace Attorney)
uhhhh... I have a few others that I like a little as ideas, but not that I really hardcore ship... >>;;
8. Check up on your Star Sign (the Western one) and tell me what characteristics people born in it is supposed to have that you think you yourself have. (Did that make sense?)
Ehh, I can see some of those for myself... Patient, placid, likes security... But I'm not exactly persistent, reliable's up for debate... and I think other people would have a better job figuring out if I'm warmhearted or not.
9. What characteristics do you think don't fit you?
I'm not a motivated person. I don't often make myself do things unless there's a clear deadline for it. I like to let things unfold instead of getting caught up worrying ahead of time... which has proven to be equal parts okay and a terrible idea.
10: Pimping time! Link me to something you've done which you're really proud over! (Fanfiction, picture, AMW, website, just give me the goodies!)
Ehh... My fanfic account is too fresh for me to hate anything on it yet, so here I guess
11. Here's six invitation cards, give them to six real persons you would like to have over at your place!
Oda, Betty White, Kazuki Yao, Cho, Tim Gunn, Robert Downey Jr.
12. And here's six ones to fictional persons~
John Egbert, Tavros Nitram, Tyrion Lannister, Kanji Tatsumi, Franky, Commander Kahn
13. Number 13, eh? Do you believe in such things as bad luck?
Naaaaaaaah, not really.
14. If you do, what do you have to protect yourself from it?
Positive thinking =3
15. And I think that was about it. Now please tag some people you want to know more random things about!
Let's go with

Aug. 21st, 2010 07:44 pmIn other news,
And finally, we bring this sucker to a close.
Day 28: A song that makes you feel guilty
I second
Day 28: A song you thought you knew the words to and then it turned out to be something totally different
I thought it was a happy song about quirky, confident people falling in love. Then I found out it was about how attractive people are lonely and desperate for their sad one-night stands. I like my version better.
Day 29: A song from your childhood
In elementary school, we always had a big year-end revue that was often a pain, but hey, you got to be in stage in front of your parents. In fourth grade, so many of us signed up that our grade got split into two groups. Our group did this song, and we kicked ass. The parents cheered extra loud, and even the fifth graders told us we rocked. I kept the cardboard guitar cut-out in my closet for years after.
Day 30: Your favorite song at this time last year
I think I've earned the right at this point to break my "No EBA" rule. It's still my favorite, for reasons entirely separate from Lobster Bucket--my Favorite Song tends to last for years on end, until I get tired of it. But until then, this song will always, always, always make me smile.
( The End )
The Sacred Burning Beast of Baldimore
Aug. 18th, 2010 08:23 pmBluh bluh the latest plot at XI drove me nuts for a few days but I'm getting over it. Franky's the only one in the midst of it right now and lord knows he doesn't get bothered by this stuff. But Hajime was freaking out so hard that I actually lost sleep over it--took some brainwashing to calm him down, but now we're both feeling better about it. I can handle this, though I'm still miffed. I'm looking forward to events at 2C, it's been slow enough that I bet lots of people will make this latest stuff interesting.
Finally watching the Very Potter Sequel. It's awesome.
Day 25: A song that makes you laugh
When I was first moving into my dorm and getting used to this state, I kept thinking of this. It made me entertained all the way through.
Day 26: A song that you can play on an instrument
For a few years in middle school, I played the piano, prety much solely for the reason that I was tired of how my sister would play it and then when relatives came over they'd go "OOOOOOH CAITLIN PLAY FOR US ON THE PIANO." This was the last song I learned before my parents got tired of my whining about practicing and stopped paying for lessons. For years I could play it on muscle memory, and it's only been a year or so since I noticed that it finally has vanished for good.
Day 27: A song that you wish you could play
THIS is the song that makes me wish I still played the piano. LISTEN TO THAT ROCKOUT. Unf.

ALL YO YENS YIP YIP YIP
Aug. 16th, 2010 01:18 amThe latest drama at XI is a real stretch for me. Hajime was already mentally close to the breaking point after being trapped in the past, and I can't have him ignore the fact that the school is suddenly alive. He's having a total breakdown, and I'm just hoping that he'll be able to get through it in one piece. Morrison was having a really harsh time after a certain talk with Derrick, too, and this is not helping him think things through clearly. Franky doesn't really care, but I miss his Dad-logs already. Ugh.
Wow it's been four days since I updated this sucker MY LIFE IS BORING
Day 21: A song you listen to when you're happy
Pretty much all mys songs are happy. This is one that is suitably catchy.
Day 22: A song you listen to when you're sad
Not much to add there. Makes me giggle.
Day 23: A song you want to play at your wedding
Hahahahahahahahahahaha I am so not having a wedding, but uhhh here's an awesome sequence about that afterglow feeling |D
Day 24: A song you want to play at your funeral
Again... not much to add =3

Aug. 12th, 2010 02:54 amMy Pokewalker is broken again, though. Even worse than before. It pisses me off.
Day 18: A song you wish you heard on the radio
I have often wished that there were radio stations that played video game music; there's some stuff that is really beautiful to listen to, be it instrumental background music or things with lyrics like this.
Day 19: A song from your favorite album
I don't really pay attention to albums themselves? I care more about artists. Annnd my more favorite artists have already taken previous Days, so... but this makes a good opportunity to talk about how awesome the Homestuck soundtracks are. I don't think there's been any updates that have pumped me up as hard as this one, though Act 4's conclusion was undeniably epic. This one finally made me realize how huge all the stuff going on is, and as ever the music couldn't be more fitting.
Day 20: A song you listen to when you're angry
As I've said before, I don't really have much sad or angry music. So when I'm frustrated, I prefer to channel that into a feeling of badassery, like whatever is opposing me, I don't have to worry about it; I'm more bad than it is.
( Even on your song list... LOCK ON! )

Day 17: A song that you hear often on the radio
I don't listen much to the stations that play stuff like Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga, because KFOG is cool.

Aug. 8th, 2010 02:19 amThough, in regards to MSPA: OH MY GOD VRISKA YOU ARE SUDDENLY REALLY CREEPY My skeev meters were already pretty highly wound after watching The Worst Episode in Thriller Bark, and this is not helping it wind back down, girl. PUNCH HER IN THE THROAT TAVROS
So, do any of you old Daisychain people remember Leaf Coneybear? Those of you who said yes, do any of you watch the show Modern Family? Fun fact: Leaf and Mitchell are one and the same. I always knew Mitchell looked familiar, and once I realized why, I just... it makes me happy.
Day 15: A song that describes you
...I have motivation issues.
Day 16: A song that you used to love but now hate
This was my favorite song for at least two years, maybe three. It was my most played song on iTunes by at least sixty plays, I recall. It's still a really awesome song, of this I will never deny. However, with time, I overexposed myself to it, and thusly end up often skipping it when it comes up on the 'Pod. This, unfortunately, tends to happen with most songs that were once my Favorites, and I worry for when it happens to my current favorite set.

Aug. 6th, 2010 03:45 pmYesterday was a weird day at work. The systems were down, so I had to do all the math by hand, and if anyone had a credit card we had to put it through this really oldschool receipt machine. However, three years of experience with adding up prices without a cash register helped me through the task, along with the fact that it was pretty damn slow. We put up the poster for The Room, and... dear god, it's ugly. It's just a close-up of Wisseau, and lord he is just a bizarre looking man. It's amazing. We won't start showing until October, but it's worth it to get people excited. Because gog damn, this movie.
Also, completely bizarre: We're showing Toy Story 3 for a week. Like, a movie that people will have heard of. A movie people will take their kids to. You have no idea how big a deal that is for this theater. I am excited and will sneak in all the time.
I left my sketchbook at work ._. d'oh
Day 13: A song that is a guilty pleasure
Oh god why is this song on my iPod ;-; It's so. So dorky. Oh god. But I can't bring myself to delete it.
Day 14: A song no one would expect you to love
WARNING: NSFW
Ahahahahahaha it's just so hilariously VULGAR I can't get over it. I laugh every time this comes on my 'pod.

Aug. 4th, 2010 02:32 amAlso, saw Inception tonight with my friend. We were both pretty solidly underwhelmed: it wasn't bad, but we really didn't think it lived up to the hype at all.
Day 11: A song from your favorite band
I think this question is cheap for making me pull out my favorite band when i could use it on another category 8| Regardless, They Might Be Giants is a brilliant group--one thing I love, beyond their whimsy and bizarreness, is the fact that you get songs about things that you never hear about; while everyone else is writing love songs, here we have a song about the effects of imperialism and the glazing over of history, put to a fun and easy tune.
(speaking of Tiny Tunes, dear god I only realized the other day that Elmyra Duff is supposed to be the opposite of Elmer Fudd. DERRRRRP)
Day 12: A song from a band that you hate
Again, I don't really listen to things I don't like, so nothing really stands out in my mind as a terrible band who I loathe. That being said, while Nickelback songs on their own are okay--I can listen to them on the radio, etc--it drives me insane that they are pretty much all recycles of the exact same song over and over. The same thing applies to Linkin Park.

Aug. 1st, 2010 11:21 pmDay 08: A song that you know all the words to
Every song I have....? Seriously, I memorize songs reeeeally easy. I think I memorized this one entirely by watching Don't Eat The Mushroom over and over.
Day 09: A song that you can dance to
...and all the other ones, too... bluh. But man I can groove out to this song nonstop. It's just so. Happy. It's impossible not to groove to, if you ask me.4
Day 10: A song that makes you fall asleep
...Does this mean boring songs? Or relaxing songs? Either way, I can't fall asleep to music. Music activates my brain, I have no choice but to focus in on it. If there's music on, I can't focus on reading or writing, let alone sleeping. It's easier if it's BGM or wordless music, though.
What the shit, Franky.
I mean, DAMN. That's... ahahah. Wow. GUESS PRESSING THAT BUTTON WAS A MISTAKE HUH? Jeez the more I look at it the creepier it is. And the wierdest part of it isn't the appearance, but... "Forsooth"? Since when did Franky say stuff like "Forsooth"? Did his cola get messed up with the explosion? I mean... seriously, it could be a translation thing, but it's just plain WEIRD.
I went to visit the house my parents are planning on buying, and discovered something interesting: it's up a long, winding path with several streets branching off, with such names as "Taurus Ave," "Virgo Rd," "Capricorn Ave," and Leo and Aquarius ones that I didn't catch the full names of. This house is henceforth known as Alternia House.
Day 07: A song that reminds you of a certain event
The vast majority of Beach Boys songs remind me of once, when I must have been like five years old, when my family went camping, like with a tent and everything, and Dad had us listen to their stuff a lot on the way up--which was fine by us, because who doesn't love the Beach Boys?

Jul. 29th, 2010 01:51 amAlso, the coworker I filled in for today has some serious issues. It is not the first time her alcohol habit has impeded her ability to work; she's called in sick many more times, along with storming out of work, and sometimes even going to get drinks in between the rushes. I'm surprised Ganager hasn't fired her ages ago, but he's been known to be really resistant to the idea of firing his workers; Ckoworker was a prime example, it took a real clusterfuck to finally get him to act on that. Hrmph.
In more entertaining news, Nanager apparently has plans to start showing The Room once a month at our theater. Yeah, that The Room. We'll see how that works out.
Day 06: A song that reminds you of somewhere
Unfortunately, none of the versions of BNL's Best Hits album are available to embed, but pretty much any one of their songs in here will remind me of Florida, where my mother and I occasionally will visit her friend. One visit, I listened to the aforementioned album pretty much nonstop, forever implanting the association. I loved visiting over there, so it's a good thing. Also, who doesn't love a song about Yoko Ono? So long as it's not... actually sung by Yoko.

Jul. 28th, 2010 02:11 amOkay, I don't know why, but for some reason watching playthroughs of Persona 4 is something I find hilarious. I swear I've watched the same 4 hours of opening plot with three different comedy tracks. I found the guys who did the Endurance Run and it is cracking me up. I am a loser.
Pokemon news: Red is a bastard with ridic-level pokemon and I had my butt handed to me. I managed to get through 4 of his six, but that was with spamming hyper potions the whole way and getting a lot of help from the hail. Also I had to sacrifice one of my main 6 in order to use Rock Climb. This is why I hate HMs.
Day 06: A song that reminds you of someone
Back in 2nd or 3rd grade, I had a friend who I would hang out with all the time, with weekly playdates. Whenever she came to my house, we'd bust out the Beanie Babies and play with them while my clock-CD player went on in the background. I didn't have a very evolved taste in music back then, all my CDs were cartoon and movie soundtracks, and the Rugrat Movie one the leading one for that time. She ended up going to live overseas for a year, and by the time she got back we had grown apart. We were still classmates up through high school, but never really hung out since. It happens.

Jul. 27th, 2010 01:35 amFirst was on opening night, a woman who stormed out, growling "I hate that movie," and when we ask her, as she storms past, why she feels that way, she says that the main characters, a lesbian couple, are "sell outs" because one of them made out with the male lead. I guess I can understand that point of view, a little, since it's gotta be pretty annoying to have so little representation of lesbians in Hollywood, only to have it twisted a little, but... the trailer for the movie showed that was going to happen. And I think storming out before seeing how the thing was resolved is a bit hasty.
Then there was today, when two girls came in to see the movie. They commented on how much they liked my coworker's shirt, which was a promotional one for the movie, with the title written on the front. We had spares, so we gave them two for free. About an hour into the movie, they came out, asking for their money back, because the movie was racist (the male lead was rude to the gardener, they said), misogynistic, and the couple appeared to be verbally abusive to each other, played for laughs. I mean, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I think there's a lot of assumptions being put in there. I mean, there's no laugh track, can you really be sure all of the above is played for laughs, and not meant to be commentary? And aren't there lots of couples who trash talk to each other for the fun of it? I wouldn't know, admittedly.
...There's no real point to this above rambling, it's one thirty in the morning and I'm just rehashing the things me and my coworkers were saying.
Moving on to less political things! After spending a bunch of time in Pokemon leveling up a few spare Poke's for the sake of evolving and adding to the 'Dex, it is really refreshing to get back with my main six, and actually feeling like the leveling up process has a point. Also I'm finally en route to Mt. Silver, which contains Pokemon with a decent exp. rate turnover and that feels awesome. Not to mention I caught like four new guys in an hour, that was awesome--I always made a point of trying to only catch the first in an evolutionary chain and evolving them naturally, but after realizing I never actually followed up on that I have started being a little more progressive. It feels good.
IN OTHER WORDS SARAH IS A HUGE DORK HERP DERP DERP 8D
Also I really like my neighbor she is a sweetheart who pays me a ton to look after her cat sometimes but it would be great if she actually emailed me with instructions when she says she is going to. This is for the sake of her gimp cat after all.
Day 04: A song that makes you sad
To be honest, I don't really listen to very many sad songs at all. I don't like feeling sad. I like to feel happy. My iPod is full of songs that either make me feel happy, or make me feel badass, or make me feel like a total geek. Or some combination of the three. Songs make me most sad when I have something sad to associate them with. And no scene has ever made me cry harder than the one I associate this song with.

EDIT: OH HOLY CRAP

Jul. 26th, 2010 12:25 amBut no really why didn't Biri join the crew.
Doctor Who continues to be cool, too, though Martha has yet to really grow on me as instantaneously as Donna did. I wish they could just have Shakespeare as a companion, he seems well suited. Either way, sad to say, I don't love it as much as One Piece, because holy hell that was awesome.
I found two dollars while sweeping up a theater! Dropped by two different people, no less. Guess there's an advantage to people being slobs!
Day 03: A song that makes you happy
"And please remember, people, that no matter who you are, and what you do to live, thrive, and survive, there are still some things that make us all the same: you, me, them, everybody. Everybody."
I haven't actually seen the movie >> believe me when I say that this song makes me want to.

Jul. 25th, 2010 01:08 amDay 02: Your least favorite song
It's a bit of a silly question, since I just don't listen to songs I don't like. I'm sure there are ones I hate more than this out there, but I wouldn't know, I either haven't heard them or have pushed them out of my memory banks due to repression or having better things to use my memory on. Anyway, I just hate this one because it once got stuck in my head for like an entire shift at work and would not leave, and when lyrics that repetitive and inane get stuck in your head, ooh you are guaranteed for a bad time. Just thinking about it, I need to make an effort to keep it from getting stuck in there. Ugh.

Jul. 24th, 2010 01:22 amI actually got a decent number of shifts at work this week! It is a good thing. Some of them are closing shifts, which have the advantage of mo' money, but the disadvantage of being there until midnight. Though I'm up well past midnight every night anyway so v(._.)v
Annnnnnnnd because my willpower has crumbled... 30 DAY MUSIC MEME WOOOOO
My goal is to get through this with only one song per artist and no EBA or OTO things because that is just too obvious for me.
Day 01: Your favorite song
Couldn't find a good quality version of it outside of live performances, unfortunately. I just love the message of the song: Please don't be a lobster, friends are best. Even if it's dorky as all get out, it's still super sweet when you get down to it.
