THEN You guys try and guess what the songs are
AFTER idk go have a tea party or something

Thirty under here )

Man doing these always make me feel like my taste in music is a cross between too generic and too obscure ._.
unij: YOU BET KID (Psy-yai-yai...)
sweet god I just watched the whole season of Doctor Who (Nine) in two days. It went so damn fast!

now off to watch Ten, whee~
unij: YOU BET KID (Psy-yai-yai...)
My PokeWalker appears to be broken ._. It won't turn on anymore. It worked fine last night. I don't have a screwdriver small enough to unscrew the back and get a look at the battery. I guess it's a good thing that Wooper invaded it last night before I put Kiku the Dratini in, at least.

In other news, yesterday we got to watch TAMI, a concert in 1964 that featured, amongst others, The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, Chuck Barry, James Brown, and The Rolling Stones. It was pretty freaking amazing.

Looks like I'm doing my paper on the start of Marvel, too. We'll have to see how this goes =D;; I think I've found a couple good sources, at least. (did you know there was a Marvel workout book in the 70s? I'm not surprised but it is very silly anyway.)
unij: YOU BET KID (I Did It My Way)
Good news: I just realized that, on top of all the awesome musical things I could write this epic research paper on, I could also do an epic paper on Marvel in the 60s.

Ohhhh snap.

I mean, it occurred to me before that doing comics was an option, but it just dawned on me that Marvel got started in the sixties. Rise of Spider-Man, Iron Man, X-men, this is kind of a big deal. I do hope that certain numbers among you would be willing to lend advice if I pursue this suddenly tempting topic.

Bad news: I've lost my student ID somewhere. I am quite sure it was in my pocket this morning, but it decidedly is not now. I've retraced my steps, checked all the lost and founds, and yet to no avail. I'm not quite freaking out yet, but I am definitely nervous >>

Hnnnnnng I hate HMs I hate HMs I hate HMs

I forgot that you need Strength to get through Victory Road and I really do not want to have one of my team wasting one of their moveslots for such a lame move, it's bad enough they make me waste a Pokemon on Waterfall, what is even the point

Also, I talked with my teacher today and he was totally cool with the idea of comparing some of the ideas in EBA with the 60s music for the research paper. I'm not sure I'll do it, since I've already done a lot of junk on EBA and it might be good to branch out, but it's good to have that option. These teachers are cool people, f'real.

Blarg suddenly I have no tags to do, joining new logs what is this

Auuuuuuuuuuuuuugh finally back in my warm happy room

So remember how I lost my iPod in the shuttle? They were still holding onto it, thank god. But I had to go get it myself at the shuttle company's office. The bus didn't get me very close, and it was raining. I was irritated. There was, however, a bus that was able to take me back. Which was nice.

Anyway, important thing is I got my iPod back. Musiiiiiiiiiiiiiic.

Other important thing is first class today. I hadn't realized that writing papers was going to be such a big deal; they expect something every week, on top of the big research paper due at the end. Learning that made me nervous; I haven't written a real research paper in years, and I've never enjoyed them much at all. But then I recalled that this is, essentially, what a college workload is supposed to be like, and I should suck it up because it doesn't mean the class is any less interesting.  So I'll just. See how this works.

First bit of class had already. I am nervous. I'll do a more in-detail post later today.

More importantly: I had a conversation with XI's Chopper-mun the other night, and he ended up putting a marvelous image in my head, for the inevitable battle versus Magneto. And it had to be drawn.

Warning: Immature audiences only )

I went to see How To Train Your Dragon today!

Unfortunately, my friend wanted to see it in the IMAX 3D, which is fine, but I came up with the brilliant plan of buying a ticket for something else and bringing the glasses we already had, to save money. Today, I learned that the 3D glasses for IMAX are different from the regular 3D glasses. My friend, though, already owned the correct pair.

So I watched the movie in Blurryvision, which was annoying but I deserved it. The movie was really good regardless, I just wasn't as immersed as I would like to be. The main characters were great, and I totally want my own Night Fury. Adorable. It's a simple story, sure, but it's done really well.

In similar news, I caught Lugia last night, but didn't save afterwards and left my game in Sleep mode. Then I came out this morning to find one of my parents turned off the game. Smooth.

Goin' back to school tomorrow. I first typed "to school" as "home." Interesting.

I realized last night that Tanaka is pretty much the Butt Monkey of all my muses. I'm not sure why, but he is.

Something about how he takes himself too seriously, I guess. It's so easy to knock him down a peg. His facade of confidence is just begging to be knocked down. Also, I guess, because the way I play him, he's so caught up in all that OSU business right now that he doesn't know how to enjoy himself doing much else. Which gets boring to type up again and again, so the other option is him looking like a dork all the time. And then after a while of that he gets depressed.

I am both entertained and worried for him. He needs friends soooo bad.

EDIT: Oh man Sanji made him really depressed now D= I was not planning on that.

It pisses me off so much that I cannot upload files on this computer without breaking the internet.

Downloading is fine, but sharing with others is apparently right out.

I guess I should figure out if this is still a problem at school. Grumble.
unij: YOU BET KID (Psy-yai-yai...)
Back home, comfortable, glad to pet my dog, considering the pile of tags I suddenly have out of nowhere.

But! I left my iPod on the airport shuttle D= I called them and they said they'll hang onto it until I get back on the 27th, but auuuuugh so long without my pod it will be such a struggle I am not kidding.

I really wish I'd tried to bring my tablet back with me so I could get more iconwork done but there was just no room in the suitcase D=
unij: YOU BET KID (CLOVER HAY)
This is awesome:

Okay now I gotta finish packing. Why is my Spring Break so different from everyone else's D= I wanna hang with my friends
unij: YOU BET KID (Badass Enough To Not Care)
I gave blood today! I feel helpful. And not woozy at all! Like I'm part Zoro or something. Also, I got free cookies and juice afterwords =D

Man I am having so much fun with SoulSilver but I'm having trouble getting entirely satisfied with my team--I dunno if I wanna switch out my Ampharos and Slowpoke for something else.

And why the hell do I have to wait for the National 'Dex to get my Metal Coat? I want a Scizor NOW. =|
unij: YOU BET KID (Bink's Sake)
You know what sucks? Not knowing the bus routes very well, and also not having enough small bills for fare.

You know what's awesome? Strangers who are totally willing to help pay for fare. I LOVE YOU NICE STRANGERS <3

I spent pretty much the whole time in the exhibition hall, which is normal for me and conventions. I didn't get all the swag I wanted--lines for some of the more popular booths were incredibly slow, man--but I am pleased with the results. Kate Beaton is a very cute, sweet-seeming young woman, and Hussie was decidedly much more gangly and awkward than I expected, but very cool.

woooo tired.

Good news/Bad news time!

Good news: Totally going to Emerald City Comic Con tomorrow.

Bad news: The girl who said she'd both drive with me down and spend time with me there has not contacted me since we last spoke four days ago, not responding at either of the telephone numbers I have nor responding to a facebook message (despite the fact that she's apparently been on facebook today), leaving me to assume something fell through. (EDIT: she messaged me to say that she can't go, she's too busy. Well, at least letting me know 10:45 the night before is better than nothing at all)

Good news: Just so happened I ran into my neighbor today, who is a cool dude and also going, so we can at least take the bus together.

Bad news: He's going to be hanging out with his sister and staying the night once we get there, so I may be on my own for a chunk of it, namely the bus ride back.

Good news: I'm going to a comic convention with Andrew Hussie, Kate Beaton, Christ Hastings and KC Green, to say nothing of the more famous individuals attending.
unij: YOU BET KID (D<)
I downloaded the new Firefox and it messed up all my Most Visited folder and took away my quick login. I am very irritated by this.

Also argh Kinkos all I want is to bind these already-printed pages together can you please tell me how much it will cost it's not that big a deal
unij: YOU BET KID (RRRRRRRRGH I'm good)
Double post whoop

Turns out I didn't need to worry, the Seniors for the writing class snapped up all the available spaces yesterday anyway. 1960s it is!

The First Vampire

I swear it's like this came straight off the pages of Axe Cop, it's so badass.

I have suddenly hit a dilemma with which class I should sign up for this quarter.

Okay so it was maybe a little under a year ago I made a post about how cool one of the classes listed for Spring Quarter was, entitled Popular Music and Literature of the 1960s. It generally looks awesome, and it turns out I have just enough credits to qualify for this class.

Just today my friend pointed out to me a class that was only added on in late February, entitled Heart and Mind on Screen and Page. It's all about writing, mostly for television and movies, enhancing your ability in storytelling for that particular medium.

So we've got the class that isn't specifically related to my semi-major of writing, but is very deeply connected to my interests in music, and that I've been looking forward to get into for about ten months. Then we've got the new class that is connected to my semi-major, sounds really interesting and helpful to the craft, oh and also it's taught by a guy who wrote X-Files episodes. Due to the way my college works, it is unlikely that either class will be available again after this quarter.

My timeslot to pick my class is tomorrow at noon.

Aaaaaa.

I-I just realized that Emerald City ComiCon, taking place next weekend, hosting Christopher HastingsKate Beaton, and Andrew Hussie, along with Leonard Nimoy and Stan Lee,  is happening in Seattle. That's a scant hour's drive away from where I am.

Why did I not actually look into this sooner.

Oh my god I want to figure out how to get to this so bad.
