I realized last night that Tanaka is pretty much the Butt Monkey of all my muses. I'm not sure why, but he is.

Something about how he takes himself too seriously, I guess. It's so easy to knock him down a peg. His facade of confidence is just begging to be knocked down. Also, I guess, because the way I play him, he's so caught up in all that OSU business right now that he doesn't know how to enjoy himself doing much else. Which gets boring to type up again and again, so the other option is him looking like a dork all the time. And then after a while of that he gets depressed.

I am both entertained and worried for him. He needs friends soooo bad.

EDIT: Oh man Sanji made him really depressed now D= I was not planning on that.

It was a problem back when he was in Paixao, too. He's not got a personality that makes it hard to get CR sometimes, I guess |D

The punchings are part of the buttmonkey thing |D but they will be helpful. More helpful than other certain buttmonkey ideas we've got. Hajime makes a point of trying to keep from holding grudges against people but if J is a continuous antagonizing force he'll be hard-pressed. It may be worth noting that the things Hajime says aren't actively antagonizing, he just doesn't think before he speaks >>

Sadly, I can't offer up Derrick for a friend right now without worrying about Tanaka's reaction to him. I'm not sure how Derrick would translate into soul fire. "Backbeat the word is on the street is that the fire in your heart is out" comes to mind with Derrick's beat at the moment...

Yeah, that's what he needs. Unfortunately, he's gonna need help figuring that out, it's sort of the only thing he knows how to do these days and could really benefit from someone telling him otherwise.

Yeah, as things stand, Hajime'd be more interested in pumping up Derrick than Derrick would be in calming down Hajime. In time, maybe.

... Actually, I'm not sure if Tanaka would be able to pump up Derrick; that's what I'm concerned about. I'm having a hard time seeing the Ouendan newbie cheering on him without nothing happening or catastrophic failure... which is not what Tanaka needs. ._.

That...is a good point. Nothing all that good can come from that equation. He's got enough ways to end up depressed right now, he needs more ways to lighten up.
