I don't get why so many freakin' games feel the need to put in vampires when it doesn't really fit in with the plot. I mean I haven't played most of them, so I don't know if they have it fit better in the universe, but it just doesn't seem to make sense based on what I know.

Metal Gear Solid: war games, lots of guns and sneaking around, shooting people, with clones and robots, advanced technology, bioengineered soldiers and... vampires. Where is the connection?

Fallout: Post-apocalyptic, grungy and based around nuclear activity. There are monsters, but the vampires are, as far as I can tell, random throw-ins of normal humans who drink blood and don't go into the sun because they are "creatures of the darkness." It would be one thing if they were just straight-up Refined Cannibals or whatever, but they gotta be vampires.

I bet there are others out there, too, but those are the ones that stand out as kinda random to me.

Ugh, The Family. I really didn't care for the quest at all and the fact that they were just up and at-em vampires made me go "...=\". Vampires were a semi-popular way of looking at post-apocalypic mutated humans, but Vance hints on it always being a condition well before the Third World War. Not to mention in 50's sci-fi pulp, the mutant vampires usually looked more like ghouls or other different things.

All the same, after doing that Quest, I came back readily equipped with the power of the sun (Or rather my plasma Rifle and plasma mines) and made sure the WoD dropouts were prevented from ever spreading their emo over anyone else's shoes.

I only saw 'em while my friend was playing through, and I was just like "really, game? is that necessary?"

Yeah. When I played it, I just found them generally retarded. I was hoping for cannibals or them actually being cockroaches inside or something.

Oh well, I don't have to deal with them anymore. :3
