unij: YOU BET KID (Chopper my head is not grass)
Two awesome 30 day memes have appeared near-simultaneously on my flist, and while they are both tempting, I don't really have the energy for them right now =( I don't have the energy for much of anything, lately. I've been feeling really lazy and unmotivated... I still don't have any ideas for the next class art assignment, I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do for NaNo, I can't get excited enough to tag with Spin anywhere at SC, and overall I just feel... blah.

I have a mid-quarter conference with one of my teachers tomorrow, and maybe he'll give me a bit of guidance on the matter. At least, I hope so, but nothing either of my teachers have done these last four weeks have really inspired much confidence in me. I did talk with an academic adviser about my options for next quarter, and she pointed out a decent number of programs to look into, but I still have five weeks to get through until then.

Meantime, I spent the last couple days watching Xiaolin Showdown as inspired by RP-based shenanigans. It was a goofy show, entertaining enough to eat up a couple lazy days. Jack really was the best part, I didn't really care for any of the other antagonists, and in seasons 2 and 3, where Jack's influence waned, so did my attention span. People just need more evil boy geniuses in their lives.

I had a pretty bleh day in class. For no particular reason other than I really need to start working on this self portrait project. And I hate self portraits. They feel tacky, overdone in every class I've done and also narcissistic. But I get to take pictures of myself, and then make two more pieces out of that. And it just doesn't inspire me in the slightest. Thinking about it put me in a really lousy mood.

Then I came back to my room and saw the new One Piece spoilers and my day got infinitely better

I am easily distracted I guess. In both good and bad ways =\

The first episode of The World God Only Knows has aired, and I am quiiiite pleased with it =D I am a big fan of the manga, which I think is brilliantly funny in both its parodying of the harem genre while still having a genuine plot behind it. The few trailers I saw for the show made it look like they were focusing on the shoujo bits, but I was very, very pleased to see all the humor has been kept intact.

The animation looks really good in this, motions fluid and colors bright, more comedic scenes done in a different style than the chibis of the original manga--some of the changes don't work perfectly, but not badly enough to take away much. There were a couple times where I giggled aloud at the expressions and reactions, and more than once I found myself marveling at how smooth the animation was. Whoever it is doing Keima's voice sounds like a perfect fit, as well.

The thing I love about this series is that it involves a guy trying to win the hearts of several women, but it never relies on fanservice to keep the audience interested in the female characters. They're all cute, sure, but it's centered around personalities and situations, and not the situations that involve accidentally falling into a girl's boobs or walking in on her naked a million times. I would love there to be more stories like that. I really would.

Someone else should go watch/read it so I can have someone to squeal with kthx.

EDIT: ...especially now that I've read the most recent chapter holy shiiiiiiiiiit
unij: YOU BET KID (Even skeletons can shit brix)
All right, now that all the guys are back together, posing as a team because shit is so real, I better be like the cool kids and talk about the One Piece Time Skip.

Okay, not only have I been leaking mucous for three days now, but I woke up this morning with my tongue feeling as though I'd burned it. It's been sensitive all day and makes tasting things rather muted.

If this goddamn cold isn't gone by the time I leave tomorrow I may have to cap a bitch.
unij: YOU BET KID (school is hard)
Aaaa I just found out like two hours ago that it's 24 hour comic day and I feel like I should do something
I have like four starters of ideas written but no idea where to take any of them to make them solid satisfying story arcs
and now I've lost a whole twentyfourth of my time allotment and I really should go to sleep which will eat up like nine more twentyfourths
how does time move this fast

The pettiest and absolutely least important of all the things that are bothering me right now:

Yes, I know, I get it. Pokemon is basically glorified cockfighting. Hahahahahaha this is a hilarious thing to bring up, let us mention it and drive it into the ground of every single Let's Play ever made. There are so many more logical fallacies to focus in this story concept, guys. Let's talk about why Professors of these monsters never have more than three of them around, or why there are no actual hospitals for people, or the realization that certain Pokemon, like Alakazam, are hundreds of times smarter than any human yet for some reason still put up with us. These are much more interesting to consider. Cool? Cool.

Halfway through my first day of class.

Really uncertain about whether or not I'll enjoy it at all.

Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

The sky was purple for a minute there

Note that the sky was also completely cloudy and raining at the time as well

Again: Washingtonnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
unij: YOU BET KID (Psy-yai-yai...)
I've realized suddenly I don't know where a bunch of my clothes are. Like, I have enough clothes to get me through the week--all the stuff that I realized I don't have were the sort of things I thought would be fun to wear on a Zombie Nerfocalypse night, or something like that. I first noticed that my boots were missing, and figured that I just must have forgotten them at home, but I kind of remember distinctly looking at my empty empty closet in the time after we sent up my boxes and thinking, "well, all my foo outfits and the like will be back up at school when I get there." But I emptied my boxes, and they're not here.

I don't know if I thought I packed them, but they're really hidden somewhere at home? If they're not in my closet, and not in my boxes, then I'm not sure where they are. =|a this is slightly distressing.

-contact friends

You know a great way to fend off fears of evil video game ghosts?

Watching old episodes of Legends of the Hidden Temple.

Though now I might have nightmares of Temple Guards and goddamn monkey statues
unij: YOU BET KID (DO NOT WANT)
Sooooooo

Have you guys heard about that Majora's Mask Creepypasta thing? The one that's super duper spooky? I have, the last couple days, but I didn't read it, because I never played Majora's Mask, so I figured I wouldn't really get the full experience of it. But today, I figured, oh why not, it'll be good for the lulz.

As I'm reading through this undeniably spooky thing, I do get some mild chills of "Wowwwww aaa do not want," but I figure I'm doing a pretty good job of not getting too freaked out.

Until, maybe halfway through the story, as the person is going into more and more detail about how this game and their computer is haunting them and controlling their movements, my internet suddenly goes out.

I noticed because AIM suddenly shuts down and can't reconnect. Since I already had the page for the story up, I could keep reading, so, well, I did. I called to my sister to check if her internet was having a problem (we had a very time-consuming wireless issue just yesterday, it could have happened again), but hers apparently worked fine.

As I finished the story, Mom told me to walk the dog. The Alternia House is on a hill with no sidewalks and sporadic lighting. It had gotten dark while I'd been reading, and, of all things, the fog had come in.

As you might be able to tell by me posting this, I was able to get the internet back running with a little fiddling, and nothing jumped me on the walk (though we did see a raccoon). The most noteworthy was that my iPod brought up both Ghostbusters and Great Bay Shrine on the walk, but it's still a delightful little peek into why Sarah is a derp who shouldn't read ghost stories |D
unij: YOU BET KID (Even skeletons can shit brix)
I woke up and discovered that I apparently had a nosebleed in the middle of the night.

I wonder what my dreams were about.
unij: YOU BET KID (Enjoying the Winddown)
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha you guys the "plot twists" in these games are still the most ridiculous and silly thing ever made

I love it

And as they say, nothing satisfies like a puzzle solved

Except for maybe going to sleep after staying up all night solving goddamn puzzles

(ps damn for having like the most simply designed face in the game, Layton showed some epic emotion back there =< )
unij: YOU BET KID (Do you have a newsletter I can subscribe)
Pixar is amazing guys

I love pixar

that's all
unij: YOU BET KID (derp derp)
Whelp, now that I've started getting settled into the Alternia House, it's of course time to start packing up for going back to school.

And man, If I thought packing up for moving houses was unpleasant, this is even more awkward. For the house shift, it was just a matter of "Get everything into boxes, GO." Now, I have to figure out what things I'm going to need and what  things I'm going to want. Feels weird, man.

Also, some guy found the Franky drabbles I've been doing on ffnet and asked me to join his writing forum type thing. I'm a little flattered but mostly kinda weirded? Yay me 8|;;
