You know what's a really lousy feeling? Having this thing that you're really proud of, you think looks really great, and you're really hoping people will appreciate it and like it. And then putting it up, and no one cares. Not just like, bad reviews, but no one comments or seems to notice whatsoever. The realization that what you were really excited about and proud of is just utterly unnoteworthy to everyone else. And this happens several times, in a row.

I guess this is something most people go through, in one thing or another. And I should get used to it, and take advantage of it to cut my ego down. But it really feels like crap.

This may not help much with how you're feeling, but *hug*

... Don't sell yourself short either. Then you may panic a little each time you post, wondering if what you have is good enough to share, assuming that it isn't and it will be overlooked for the most part, and taking comfort in that.

Be proud of your work, even if no one else seems to care. That's something I think is very admirable.

It can be hard for me to keep that balance. It's so annoying just for myself to be eager for attention like this, and then not getting any. I hope I'll be able to learn to just accept that I can enjoy my things without other people's direct approval.

I figure it's something that pretty much every artist gets put through some time. But that doesn't really make it suck any less.

I think so, too...it just becomes an unfortunate thing where if it's not something you're known for, people pay less attention to it. :/

Ditto what Lynx said, it happens to every artist ever. I usually get no response when I post up stuff I'm really happy with,and I've gotten used to it by now.
