May. 27th, 2010 03:59 pmPaper is over, done, turned in, mission complete, dai sei kou!
I am going to celebrate by shooting people with toy bullets.
Saturday there's going to be a game of Zombie Capture-The-Flag, 10PM to midnight. I went today to Target to check out the Nerf selection. It's pretty huge, and Sarah is very very bad at making decisions when it comes to spending money.
So I am asking you guys for advice! (Especially you,
anzila , you nerf warlord you) If you were in a zombie nerfocalypse for two hours, what would you go with? A huge tommy gun or belt-fed blaster, plenty of ammo and little accuracy to worry over, but cumbersome? A smaller dart gun, easy to move around and hide with but requiring more refills? A sword, requiring no reloading but a bit large and forcing closer combat? There's plenty of extra darts available purchase, though nothing to hold them with. Nothing costs more than $20 without tax.
Final order of business: HEY
katiebalatie HAPPY BIRTHDAY I LOVE YOU I MISS YOU I AM SO CALLING YOU WHEN YOU GET BACK IN THE COUNTRY TOMORROW

Date: 2010-05-27 11:20 pm (UTC)The Nerf Recon. Comes complete with a six shot clip, and space in the stock for a second one if you wish, good for quick interchangeable loading. If you use new darts it has almost no jamming problems like the smaller pistols or pump action guns. Best of all, if the clip is in and it hasn't been fired, then you know it's loaded. Some other guns you can put the clip in, forget to cock it, and get ambushed, but the recon has to be cocked for you to load it. It has solid range and accuracy, and can be disassembled for easy storage and transport while losing little of it's effectiveness. Comes with barrel extension, a useless light/laser targeter, a tiny scope, and the ability to store an extra dart in the butt.
If you do want a bigger weapon, you can still have the recon as a solid backup weapon in pistol form, I've never had it jam on me, as long as I use fresh darts.

Get the flip clip, and you can add a third clip for little extra weight, though it does make the gun a little more awkward to use.
The Recon can also be used interchangeably with other N-Strike accessories.
For your main weapon if you worry about ammo, try the

Rapid Raider: It's a pain to unload/reload, and the pumping can be tricky, but it doesn't jam that I've seen and with 35 darts you shouldn't have to reload much at all.
Hope this helps.
