(no subject)

Two weeks ago:
Me: "Hello, people I am sharing a hotel room with! Do we want to plan what food we're bringing? I will bring makings for PB&J."
Everyone: "Okay I will plan to bring other things!"

Two days ago:
Friend: "Okay, so I got PB&J makings, what is everyone else bringing?"
Me: "Oh... I was planning on doing that... but if you have that covered, okay, I'll bring something else!"

Today:

Me: "Okay, I got bagels and juice!"
Friend: "Ok, I have PB&J makings, but only enough for me and maybe one other person!"
Me: "..........."

SIGH

How is that having PB&J makings? That's not makings, that's a fucking sandwich. Just say you have a fucking sandwich :T You're going to a CON not an afternoon lunch in the park.

/is baffled.

She apparently is pretty much planning for what she and she alone will be needing for the entirety of the con, from what I can discern. She's backing enough granola to last her through the con. She's got enough sandwich makings to last for all of her lunches.

Great to know I've got a friend so willing to go out there for others.

This actually got me to facepalm. =(

Try to have a good time at con regardless of PB&J status!

Yeah, yeah that about sums it up.

Thanks, I will! If nothing else, we can always hit up a grocery store nearby.

Food at conventions: very confusing business, unfortunately.

If you do find a grocery store, I'd suggest checking out the deli counter. Some places sell fresh-made pasta salads at better prices than packaged convenience food.
