unij: YOU BET KID (Not Bugcatcher)
Brute-forced my way through 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors. I was getting pretty disappointed with myself because apparently I was getting every single bad ending before the good ending... before I found out that the very first ending I got WAS the good ending. However, for it to be completed, they actually require you to unlock one of the other endings (which happened to be the second ending I got.) It took like four days, which is a pretty long time for me on a puzzle game honestly--usually I can power through in a day, but each of the Important Routes took me a day each, and then a lot of messing around with trying to find the other ones. It made me start playing Sudoku again, damn this thing. I might have a Seven muse, because he's awesome. Also, I can't help but find parallels between Seven/Lotus and Franky/Robin, which makes me giggle a little.

Speaking of One Piece, GOOD LORD finally we're getting back to the good stuff. We spent enough time from the crew already, every little bit seems like fresh air. Brook, you silly moron, you ruin everything <3 Though seriously, how the heck did Zoro get caught? Will Franky get to blow something up? Please? Figures it would happen right after the big Second City plot where I don't know what fighting abilities he has. Hurrrrr.

Also speaking of Second City, 4th Wall Day! Never been in a 4th wall thing before... but hopefully it will be fun? Damn, I just need to be more active in general over there =( Franky torture does not excuse all the tags I've been ignoring.

Looks like the Mom Train is already on the verge of coming down. But I can't really blame her when I stay up until 5 in the morning playing 999, sleep until 1 PM, then spend the rest of the waking hours holed in my room. Shaping up to be a fun fun summer.

The thing that has actually made me consider Black and White more than anything else was the realization yesterday that there are no zubats or ratattas.

Still gonna wait on it, though. For now, OKAMIDEN FUCK YEAH PUPPYGOD

Special announcement:

Everyone who owns a DS needs to go buy Ghost Trick.

I'm not even kidding, you guys. This game is amazing. [livejournal.com profile] ggmoonycrisco put it best in her post--which was the first I ever noticed the game, but I'm still going to reemphasize that this game is WORTH ATTENTION.

The game is superbly written, a mystery story with endless bits of intrigue and thickening plot. Even with a couple accidental mild spoilers, I was still gawking at the screen at a few plot turns--and laughing ridiculous hard at others. The characters themselves are perfect, too, and it becomes clear through them that this really is from the creators of the Ace Attorney games. Even the most generic background characters have memorable lines and stories to them.

The puzzles themselves can be really challenging, and there were a few moments I wanted to stab my DS through the screen for having to start over yet again, but they weren't to the point where I ever actually decided to consult an FAQ (I have consulted walkthroughs at least once for all the AA games, except Investigations.). It'll challenge you, but without being a dick about it.

And my god, the sprite animation is perfect. It's gorgeous. Every single movement is smooth, natural, and eye-catching, at it really works to the advantage of bringing you into the world's atmosphere.

On top of everything, do you know what Capcom decided would be the most epic way to advertise for this game? Advertising in webcomics.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha you guys the "plot twists" in these games are still the most ridiculous and silly thing ever made

I love it

And as they say, nothing satisfies like a puzzle solved

Except for maybe going to sleep after staying up all night solving goddamn puzzles

(ps damn for having like the most simply designed face in the game, Layton showed some epic emotion back there =< )

This is a good week for me finding things out about games
unij: YOU BET KID (Guh-loooooom)
Ugh, moving tomorrow. So not looking forward to it. I like our house. This new one is so... not the house I've lived in for thirteen years. 8(

Dunno if Internet will be up and running tomorrow, but I'm figuring it will be by the end of the day. Hopefully. We'll see.

Rocketman continues to be a douche of a computer, with lousy battery life and now the siding is coming off. Come on, man, you can do better than that.

Been playing Plants Vs. Zombies a lot lately, because that song they made is completely awful but mind-numbingly catchy. It's just plain silly.

I am so out of practice with writing fics, but the drabbles I've been doing for the 30 Challenge have been pretty fun, though none of them have been very long--all under 400 words. Though, they did inspire me to work on a slightly longer fic idea. I'm not sure how long that one will go, but it's been interesting to work with so far.
unij: YOU BET KID (Just One More Minute)
Apparently my parents are moving. I mean, my dad has been super excited for a week or so about this house not too far up the hill from us, with a fabulous view and not much else. But Dad doesn't get excited about much, so despite Mom's reservations she let him go ahead and start looking, but we were thinking--and kind of hoping--that it would fall through. But it sounds like things are getting serious. It's not a far move, but packing up and cleaning up our place for sale is a big process. And, on top of that, my sister just... two days ago, I guess, got an offer with a friend to share an apartment. She's been really wanting to move out lately, with how nuts Mom can get, so she's thrilled to take it up. Weird how these things line up, I guess.

Okay, I don't know why, but for some reason watching playthroughs of Persona 4 is something I find hilarious. I swear I've watched the same 4 hours of opening plot with three different comedy tracks. I found the guys who did the Endurance Run and it is cracking me up. I am a loser.

Pokemon news: Red is a bastard with ridic-level pokemon and I had my butt handed to me. I managed to get through 4 of his six, but that was with spamming hyper potions the whole way and getting a lot of help from the hail. Also I had to sacrifice one of my main 6 in order to use Rock Climb. This is why I hate HMs.

Day 06: A song that reminds you of someone

Back in 2nd or 3rd grade, I had a friend who I would hang out with all the time, with weekly playdates. Whenever she came to my house, we'd bust out the Beanie Babies and play with them while my clock-CD player went on in the background. I didn't have a very evolved taste in music back then, all my CDs were cartoon and movie soundtracks, and the Rugrat Movie one the leading one for that time. She ended up going to live overseas for a year, and by the time she got back we had grown apart. We were still classmates up through high school, but never really hung out since. It happens.

The How's My Driving? Meme

We had one of these in-game the other day, but I still want to optimize opportunity to get feedback.

Ugh, lately I've been getting really tempted to look for another game to play Franky at, but considering I have one week to write seven more pages (minimum), now is not the right time. In a week or two... I don't know, we'll see.

Too many of the games I've been playing have been making me reeeeeeally hungry for delicious Asian food. Accursed lack of income! I'm in that weird state where I am running low on food, but don't want to go shopping because it's not long before I go back home, and I dunno how much I'll actually eat before I head back. Food is a complicated thing like that.

Someone who's played Persona 4 get online so I can geek out to them

Soooo, had my conference with my teacher about my first draft, but it turns out that mine is one of the three that he hasn't gotten to read yet. Thanks, Big D. He gave it a glancethrough, though, while we talked, and commented that it looked pretty strong so far. I've got more sources to go off of right now, as well, so hopefully this won't be much of an issue.

And hey, maybe if I didn't procrastinate so much, I could get in a second draft that he could look over before the final is due and get more feedback.

I'm not sure who I think I'm kidding with that line of thought though.

My buddy [livejournal.com profile] childofthemoor  let me borrow her PS2 so hopefully I can pick up my Persona playing, which I am satisfied with. I maxed out my social link with Brosuke today. It was epic manly. Next in line, Chie. B|b

Ummm jeez what else can I say. I'm mostly updating just because it's been a while and Ma likes it when I do these things.

...it is so weird having Franky and Hajime as my most active muses. Enjoyable, though. Hopefully plot with the Ouenkid can start up within the week...?

...I think that's it.

unij: YOU BET KID (Psy-yai-yai...)
My PokeWalker appears to be broken ._. It won't turn on anymore. It worked fine last night. I don't have a screwdriver small enough to unscrew the back and get a look at the battery. I guess it's a good thing that Wooper invaded it last night before I put Kiku the Dratini in, at least.

In other news, yesterday we got to watch TAMI, a concert in 1964 that featured, amongst others, The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, Chuck Barry, James Brown, and The Rolling Stones. It was pretty freaking amazing.

Looks like I'm doing my paper on the start of Marvel, too. We'll have to see how this goes =D;; I think I've found a couple good sources, at least. (did you know there was a Marvel workout book in the 70s? I'm not surprised but it is very silly anyway.)
unij: YOU BET KID (Pestertrolling)
Hnnnnnng I hate HMs I hate HMs I hate HMs

I forgot that you need Strength to get through Victory Road and I really do not want to have one of my team wasting one of their moveslots for such a lame move, it's bad enough they make me waste a Pokemon on Waterfall, what is even the point

Also, I talked with my teacher today and he was totally cool with the idea of comparing some of the ideas in EBA with the 60s music for the research paper. I'm not sure I'll do it, since I've already done a lot of junk on EBA and it might be good to branch out, but it's good to have that option. These teachers are cool people, f'real.

Blarg suddenly I have no tags to do, joining new logs what is this
unij: YOU BET KID (Badass Enough To Not Care)
I gave blood today! I feel helpful. And not woozy at all! Like I'm part Zoro or something. Also, I got free cookies and juice afterwords =D

Man I am having so much fun with SoulSilver but I'm having trouble getting entirely satisfied with my team--I dunno if I wanna switch out my Ampharos and Slowpoke for something else.

And why the hell do I have to wait for the National 'Dex to get my Metal Coat? I want a Scizor NOW. =|
unij: YOU BET KID (Really please stop joking)
Okay I've gotten too distracted to keep doing the LP of Investigations, not that I think anyone was reading it anyway. Though let me say case 3 has been giving me much reason to "OH GOD WHY."

Progress is actually happening with the comic! If I keep up this pace, I may actually complete it in time. Though, it will be a close one, of this I am sure.

Also seriously why is it that all the music I want to download is only the sort not available on iTunes.

Aaaaaugh my subscription is almost up ;-; Fifteen icons is so small

Whoop whoop, more Edgeworth. Usually I would just not put the game down until it's finished, but I've got work to take care of for class. Only got the second case done today.a

Case Two: Turnabout Airlines )

Playthrough of Ace Attorney: Investigations. 'Cause why not. Potential spoilers ahead!

Case One: Turnabout Visitor )

Overall, the game looks like it's off to a good start. Great graphics, characters no less enjoyable than before, and clear evidence of an overarching plot that'll be throughout the game, which we usually don't get.

In other news, Roommate 1 decided to get rid of the mice today. She's... going through a lot of issues right now, and their wheel keeps her up at night. Not helpful to the situation. They were annoying in a lot of ways, but I'm going to miss having the furry little guys around.

I am so glad that there is a small but steady trickle of new EBA fanart to be found. It just makes my day when I check up on these things.

✖ Ask any of the characters I roleplay a question, and I'll reply in-character as them with an answer.
✖ Feel free to ask them ANYTHING, Regardless of whether you know their canon or not.
✖ Feel free to also ask them as your own character. They will respond accordingly.

Come on guys I like having my muses do this dumb stuff
unij: YOU BET KID (O Ya Dats Mine)
I don't get why so many freakin' games feel the need to put in vampires when it doesn't really fit in with the plot. I mean I haven't played most of them, so I don't know if they have it fit better in the universe, but it just doesn't seem to make sense based on what I know.

Metal Gear Solid: war games, lots of guns and sneaking around, shooting people, with clones and robots, advanced technology, bioengineered soldiers and... vampires. Where is the connection?

Fallout: Post-apocalyptic, grungy and based around nuclear activity. There are monsters, but the vampires are, as far as I can tell, random throw-ins of normal humans who drink blood and don't go into the sun because they are "creatures of the darkness." It would be one thing if they were just straight-up Refined Cannibals or whatever, but they gotta be vampires.

I bet there are others out there, too, but those are the ones that stand out as kinda random to me.
