Finally found my old, misplaced copy of Rhythm Heaven; for some ridiculous reason, I must have thought that putting it inside the case of another game entirely was a good idea. Note to self: it ain't. But hey, now I have another copy, in case... something.

I actually got a decent number of shifts at work this week! It is a good thing. Some of them are closing shifts, which have the advantage of mo' money, but the disadvantage of being there until midnight. Though I'm up well past midnight every night anyway so v(._.)v

Annnnnnnnd because my willpower has crumbled... 30 DAY MUSIC MEME WOOOOO

My goal is to get through this with only one song per artist and no EBA or OTO things because that is just too obvious for me.

Day 01: Your favorite song

Couldn't find a good quality version of it outside of live performances, unfortunately. I just love the message of the song: Please don't be a lobster, friends are best. Even if it's dorky as all get out, it's still super sweet when you get down to it.

30 Day List )

Today's the last full day at home. It was pretty decent. I slept poorly last night, but that doesn't count.

~Woke up, made myself bacon and eggs, felt proud of myself for putting effort into breakfast, watched adorable dogs on television.
~Went to hang out with highschoolers on their first day back, chilled with them, gave my friend his late Christmas present which was a plushie Companion Cube. He geekgasm'd and it was adorable.
~Finally got to go to the delicious and inexpensive Japanese place in the area. I had missed their sushi so hard.
~Got a massage. It was nice, but of all the places I felt was in most need of pressing the kinks out, you'd think she would have spent some time on the lower back. Weird.
~Got sick of missing my two vanished games: PW2 had been lent out for over a year, so I finally confronted the person who had it. I might be able to get it back tomorrow. Rhythm Heaven is too fun to let be lost, so I went to get a used copy at Gamestop. I was surprised that the store clerk recognized me; I guess female gamers over the age of 11 are rare enough to come by around here, since I don't purchase all that often. Anyway, back to my tap-tap-flicking.
~Watched the third of the Frank Sinatra movies we've TiVo'd during my break. To be honest, they're kind of dull, most of the time, and this one--The Tender Trap--had themes that were so mind-bogglingly sexist and conformist in today's society. Doesn't matter, Frank's always been a better singer than actor anyway.
~While we were watching Tender Trap, Dad was commenting on how a lot of people feel the need to fill in that conformity of society by having a significant other of one way or another, and settling down instead of bein' free like you want. He kept pulling examples from his favorite movies, like Cool Hand Luke, A Thousand Clowns, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. He finished it with it's cool that I'm so blatantly asexual, because I can completely resist that desire and not feel bad about it. I think it was a compliment?
~My dad also suddenly got all passionate, telling me about the comics of R. Crumb, and running downstairs to grab one of his volumes. A brief glance through looked... really weird.
~I think I need to put up an OOC plotting post for RP when I get back to the dorms. I'm in a real rut with my guys ._.

Okay, so I have been looking wherever I can for my Rhythm Heaven game, right? But you'd think long enough in a house with a cleaning-happy mother would turn it up already. Checking under dressers and couches didn't work, so I figured it's likely not going to turn up around the home.

I did hold hope out for today, however, as it was my first shift back at work. (PS [livejournal.com profile] deltashade my theater has Pirate Radio.) I thought, I've brought the games to work for downtime before, it's totally plausible that the thing slipped out of my bag at some point without me noticing. Maybe someone found it and put it somewhere, but it's pretty tiny so maybe not.

Work gave more than enough downtime for me to rifle through the mess of where we stick our bags and look for it. I even pulled out all the crap and organized it to make sure I didn't overlook anything. And guess what? I did find my game! Just... not the right one.

I hadn't even noticed that I'd lost my Fire Emblem game ._. way to go, self. I guess that sort of counts for a happy ending?

Gonna try and finish NaNo today, so I don't gotta worry about it during Thanksgiving prep in Sacramento.

Home is nice. My dog is fluffy and loves me and my bed is so comfortable. I forgot how nice my bed was, seriously. And real meals! Fabulous.

I am a bit worried by the apparent lack of Rhythm Heaven. I assumed that I'd left it at home somewhere but my mother has cleaned the house who knows how many times in the last two months and I've yet to find it in the neat little stacks of my crap she's left in my room. =\

ALSO: now that I'm in a place with a solid internet connection, I can skype! If anyone wants to get in a convo with me while I'm here, lemme know~

Gettin' ready for New York

Gonn' be awesome, I anticipate. Conversation with [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7  made me realize that buying a steel bat while there would be the best souvenir ever, all things considered. Though I'm still not sure how I'm going to spend all my time; I'm awfully lazy, but I'm also awfully cheap, so getting around may prove mildly problematic.

Also GameTrailers had an ad for "EBA 2.0" and I flipped out but then it turned out to be some stupid website. But the comments were pretty much entirely composed of disappointed people who thought the same thing so maybe iNiS will take the hint?

And lastly I have Superb medals in all 50 levels of Rhythm Heaven, and 31 perfects. I feel like part rhythm god or something.

So after day an' a half hanging with [livejournal.com profile] theguindo and [livejournal.com profile] dontbepanic I am pleased but totally wiped out. We all had a great time even if we're all serious introverts and were running way low on energy at the end. Rumor has it they didn't COMPLETELY hate being around me so much, so the potential for it happening again is something I support.

Amongst the various awesome things we did, the first DVD of 10th Kingdom was watched, which I have long wanted to do. Though I was not expecting everyone's brain to "move at the speed of plot," as it was put so eloquently. And Wolf is freaking shady, man.

In other news, I have now completed 46 of 50 levels within Rhythm Heaven. I have gotten a Superb medal in all of them, and a Perfect for 22 of them. I am damn proud of myself, kthx.

I'm still kind of in shock over this. I don't know what to say. I just... Ugh. People can be SO... I don't want to get into it. It's just so frustrating. I wish I could do something, but... that's how things go. I'm always here for you if you need me.
Feel like I wanna do a warm and fuzzy log to just get it out of my system, but, well, Daisychain isn't exactly in the spot for such things right now, is it?

..So I got to the Sequel Round for Rhythm Heaven. Catchy stuff, eh. Gotta love the Fan Club song, but Rhythm Rally 2 and Fillbots 2 are eating my head. I thought the first sessions were hard? Pah. I knew nothing. That DJ Yellow on Dear_Mun was pretty awesome, never thought Chorus Kid would get anyone to yap at.

Fill'rup!

Today I got Rhythm Heaven. (Actually a friend kind of bought it for me on a whim 'cause he's the nicest guy ever but anyway)

Oh my god this game. It is catchy and cute and fabulously musical but AAA IT IS HARD. I mean I've only played a couple games but it is not going smooth yet. All that EBA training, where has it goooone? ;-; Spin would be ashamed.

That being said omg the Glee Club kids are so cute.
