Been a while, huh? Things have been happening, and things I've been enjoying, at that, but nothing that really felt like I really needed to update the journal for:
-Planning on going to Disneyland with [livejournal.com profile] lynxgriffin , [livejournal.com profile] bouncy_erbear , and [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7  later this month.
-Finally started writing again. OP-ish still, but Klabautermann should be a step outside the norm.
-Struggling at SC again. Everyone's focused on the plot, and I just can't get my bearings with that in the slightest.
-Started a Pokemon Nuzlocke Challenge, and got all the way to Celadon Rocket Base before my first death... which made it hit all the harder. She was a good Vulpix...
-Belatedly, oh yeah, I did a meme.

Comment with "Cheese, please!," and:

- I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
- Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
- Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

Brute-forced my way through 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors. I was getting pretty disappointed with myself because apparently I was getting every single bad ending before the good ending... before I found out that the very first ending I got WAS the good ending. However, for it to be completed, they actually require you to unlock one of the other endings (which happened to be the second ending I got.) It took like four days, which is a pretty long time for me on a puzzle game honestly--usually I can power through in a day, but each of the Important Routes took me a day each, and then a lot of messing around with trying to find the other ones. It made me start playing Sudoku again, damn this thing. I might have a Seven muse, because he's awesome. Also, I can't help but find parallels between Seven/Lotus and Franky/Robin, which makes me giggle a little.

Speaking of One Piece, GOOD LORD finally we're getting back to the good stuff. We spent enough time from the crew already, every little bit seems like fresh air. Brook, you silly moron, you ruin everything <3 Though seriously, how the heck did Zoro get caught? Will Franky get to blow something up? Please? Figures it would happen right after the big Second City plot where I don't know what fighting abilities he has. Hurrrrr.

Also speaking of Second City, 4th Wall Day! Never been in a 4th wall thing before... but hopefully it will be fun? Damn, I just need to be more active in general over there =( Franky torture does not excuse all the tags I've been ignoring.

Looks like the Mom Train is already on the verge of coming down. But I can't really blame her when I stay up until 5 in the morning playing 999, sleep until 1 PM, then spend the rest of the waking hours holed in my room. Shaping up to be a fun fun summer.
unij: YOU BET KID (school is hard)
Oh man, this week is going to be a doozy. I'm slogging through the various readings due for seminar on Wednesday, and while none of them are too terribly long I can't really make heads or tails of what it is most of them are getting at. That's just a mild inconvenience to compound on top of completing research and an annotated bibliography on a topic that really is rather impossible to find primary sources for, as well as putting the finishing touches on the group project of a (freakin awesome) puppet show. I just can't wait until Friday. I'm gonna get down on Friday.

On the RP front, I'm all a tangle of conflict; I've already put my foot down and will be dropping Franky at XI within the next couple of days (probably after things get less distracting), and I had just about decided that it was time to take Hajime out of the Institute as well. Until I got to talk with Olaf, finally, for the first time in ages, and... well, dammit, I just can't resist that girl. Logs with Mod have consistently been the absolute most fascinating and entertaining parts of my entire run at that game, and the promise of the drought ending is enough to make me cling on... just a little longer...

Another thing to do once things settle down after this week is replay Ghost Trick if I want to make sure I can handle picking up Missile at Second City. That dog has all my love, and I want to do him justice. After all, no one can complain about a hyperactive puppy ghost after they've gotten used to the ponies.

Being at home's kind of nice. I have a dog and a sister and parents who are nice to see and love. And a really comfy bed.

Also, monster-infested Chicago is a terrible place to bring a timid, sweet pony, but god damn it is so much fun!

"Open the calendar of your Livejournal and post the first sentence of the first post of each month. That is your Year In Review! )

So yesterday I was going through some of my favorite videos of the One Piece Voice Actors being silly, and realized one of them took place at this year's Sakuracon. I decided to check the site for any interesting people I could find that would be at this year's con. Turns out, Mayumi Tanaka is going to hosting a TON of panels. /gleeeeee

Only two weeks out of Second City I already miss the sort of fun plots that would happen in jamjar games. I did enjoy my time over at 2C, but lost track of the plot fast and had trouble getting back in by the end. If I were to reapp, I don't know who I'd do it with. It's also slightly tempting to join another game, but it's so intimidating to not know where to look. Mrrrr.
unij: YOU BET KID (Gog damn it)
Blah blah don't crosspost my shit blah blah LJ is dumb blah

UGH MOVING IS ANNOYING AND WE HAVE NO HOT WATER

This is the worst thing that could happen to anyone ever

but no I'm still annoyed about it

though drawing Franky and everyone in Renaissance gear is cheering me up considerably
unij: YOU BET KID (Onward!)
aaaaaaaaa two years aaaaaaaaaaaaa four weeks aaaaaaaaa

Oda I love you and I expect this to be awesome but I am honestly not all okay with this

aaaaaaaaa

In tangentially related news I decided to claim Franky for [livejournal.com profile] 30_onepiece  for some incomprehensible reason. I've never done one of these things before, but I've kind of finished five drabbles for it already so... yes. Hopefully I don't run out of steam.

Also getting mentioned on RPS always makes me feel happy =3

In non-geek related news, oh god I hope the heat wave we had the last couple days is done, I did not want to move at ALL yesterday it was so unpleasant. I'm still not sure how to  feel about my family moving. I kind of am ready to just go back to school and be sated with a tiny dorm room instead of all this confusing stuff about furniture and beds and all that. Bluh bluh huge responsibilities.
unij: YOU BET KID (Out of cola?!)
Oh my god One Piece, what are you even--Franky and Brook's stories are terrifying. Like, Franky's hilarious and badass but also terrifying, because it makes you think, oh my god how did he do all that by himself without any proper tools and it blows my mind to even start figuring it out. I'm a little sad it looks like they're going to make it so he doesn't get credit for the disaster and huge bounty increase, too. And Brook's thing... it's... ugh. So bad. Has this man not had enough to deal with already? Reduced to a circus attraction? It's terrifying DDDD=

Bluh bluh the latest plot at XI drove me nuts for a few days but I'm getting over it. Franky's the only one in the midst of it right now and lord knows he doesn't get bothered by this stuff. But Hajime was freaking out so hard that I actually lost sleep over it--took some brainwashing to calm him down, but now we're both feeling better about it. I can handle this, though I'm still miffed. I'm looking forward to events at 2C, it's been slow enough that I bet lots of people will make this latest stuff interesting.

Finally watching the Very Potter Sequel. It's awesome.

Day 25: A song that makes you laugh

When I was first moving into my dorm and getting used to this state, I kept thinking of this. It made me entertained all the way through.

Day 26: A song that you can play on an instrument

For a few years in middle school, I played the piano, prety much solely for the reason that I was tired of how my sister would play it and then when relatives came over they'd go "OOOOOOH CAITLIN PLAY FOR US ON THE PIANO." This was the last song I learned before my parents got tired of my whining about practicing and stopped paying for lessons. For years I could play it on muscle memory, and it's only been a year or so since I noticed that it finally has vanished for good.

Day 27: A song that you wish you could play

THIS is the song that makes me wish I still played the piano. LISTEN TO THAT ROCKOUT. Unf.

Back from Disneyland with [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7. Had a great time. Am now not very coherent.

I have a bunch of things to catch up on. Old tags that need to be tagged back. Huge MSPA updates bluh bluh. New events at XI, including dance stuff that I'm not sure I care about but should look into anyway. Introing Franky at Second City. Finding out if I'm working tomorrow. Sleeping.

That last one seems the most important right now.

The whole journey was awesome, and I soooooo wish I could have hung out with Kia longer, but a comfortable homebed is important right now. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
unij: YOU BET KID (some times postal workers DOES CAUSE vio)
Glee finalie: Cliched and highly predictable throughout... but still very entertaining to watch.

In MSPA news... god I feel so bad for PM. On every level. It just. The whole situation must be awful for her. If I were more coherent right now I would do a big writeup about it. But I needed to get out something about it. Like, I feel worse for her than the kid who just had to find his friend/sister's dead body, and after that D_M post yesterday my heart was kind of wrenched for him.

[livejournal.com profile] secondcityrpg officially has opened the app gates, and Spin's is in. Now I sit back and be excited and hopeful for a week, aaa.

oh god packing is scary and we don't have a microwave and eating is suddenly difficult hnnnng
